Frequently Asked Questions

Should hair go before Makeup?

Always! Doing your hair first just makes everything easier. Here's why:

  • No product fallout: hairspray and styling products can land on your face. Doing makeup after hair keeps your skin clean and fresh.

  • Fresh face: curling irons and blow dryers can make you warm and flushed.

  • Longer lasting: When makeup is one of the final steps before walking down the aisle or heading to your event, you’ll be ready to go with a freshly applied look without waiting hours beforehand.

And most importantly, you can truly appreciate your makeup once your hair is done – it all just comes together beautifully!

How long do my services take?

I take pride in my work and want your experience to be as relaxing and stress-free as possible. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I make sure you leave happy without feeling rushed. Special event makeup usually takes about 90 minutes, bridal makeup around two hours, and hairstyling can take anywhere from one to two hours depending on the look.

Do I need hair extensions?

Extensions are not required, and in many cases not even necessary. However, when browsing inspiration photos, keep in mind that most of the models are wearing extensions for added volume and length. If you have fine or light hair, achieving the exact same look maybe challenging, but we can still get very close. Should you choose to wear extensions, we recommend investing in 100% human hair for the most natural and seamless result. Synthetic hair is not recommended, as it cannot be heat-styled and is prone to burning under hot tools.

Are bridal previews required?

Bridal previews are not required, but they are highly recommended. They give us a chance to meet and work together in a calm, stress-free environment— unlike the busy pace of your wedding day. Sometimes what you imagine for your bridal hair and make up may look different in real life, and that's perfectly okay! The preview is a perfect time to make adjustments and ensure everything is exactly how you want it.

If you choose to skip the preview, your trust is truly appreciated, and we’ll make sure your hair and makeup is flawless on your wedding date with a thorough consultation beforehand.

Where Do I Travel?

I'm based in Fairfax, Virginia, and travel throughout the DC Metropolitan area, most of Virginia, and select parts of Southern Maryland. I currently operate as a mobile artist, so I come directly to you wherever my services are needed.

For bridal clients, I also offer travel for out–of–state or long–distance in–state weddings. Please note that in those cases, hotel accommodations may be required.
